The Woodlands, TX — A 40-year-old Woodlands-area man has been arrested on multiple felony charges involving child sexual assault material, the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office said.
According to Constable Ryan Gable’s office, the Precinct 3 Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in April 2026 regarding Nicholas Ryan Bunting. The tip alleged he was in possession of child sexual assault material.
On August 20, 2026, Precinct 3 detectives, working with partners assigned to the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant at Bunting’s Woodlands-area residence.
Authorities said Bunting admitted during an interview to possessing child sexual assault material on his phone. An on-scene examination of the device located additional suspected material, officials said.
Bunting has been charged with:
• One count of possession of child pornography, a first-degree felony
• One count of possession of visual material depicting sexual assault, victim under 10, a first-degree felony
• One count of possession of visual material depicting sexual assault, a first-degree felony
• Two counts of promotion of child pornography, second-degree felonies
Detectives said they also determined Bunting allegedly used artificial intelligence to create the two promotional images from material involving a live juvenile victim.
Additional forensic examination of electronic devices recovered during the search is ongoing. Bunting is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
