Harris County, TX — A traffic stop in the 4400 block of West Greens Road ended with a wanted driver in jail and a new drug charge, Constable Mark Herman’s Precinct 4 Office said.

On August 16, 2026, deputies stopped a vehicle and identified the driver as Alvaro Arteaga. During the investigation, they found he had two open warrants for assault and terroristic threat with fear of imminent serious bodily injury. Deputies also said he was in possession of methamphetamine.

Arteaga was booked into the Harris County Jail on the warrants and charged with possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $5,000 out of the 496th District Court.

“This traffic stop removed a wanted suspect and dangerous narcotics from our streets. Our deputies will continue working proactively to keep the residents of Precinct 4 safe,” Constable Herman said.

He is presumed innocent on the new charge unless proven guilty in court.
