Houston, TX — A suspect is in custody on an aggravated assault charge after a pregnant woman was stabbed during an incident Thursday in Houston’s Greenwood neighborhood, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 3.
Deputies responded August 20 to an in-progress “life in danger” call at a home in the 12300 block of Dona Lane. Deputies reported finding the woman with injuries to her face and arms.
According to investigators, the woman said she had been invited to the home to visit the suspect. During the visit, she reportedly noticed the suspect had a concealed knife. When the suspect reached for it, the two struggled for possession of the weapon.
Authorities said the suspect then struck the woman in the face with the knife. She suffered stab wounds to her face, arms and hands and was transported by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The suspect was taken into custody for aggravated assault. Precinct 3 also reported that the suspect had been arrested in 2025 for an alleged assault on a pregnant person, but that charge was dismissed.
Authorities said the woman knew the suspect through church and reported no relationship history between them.
Charges are accusations, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
