Ovilla, TX — The City of Ovilla is moving forward with a series of infrastructure and community improvement projects funded during the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
More than $3 million was initially budgeted for projects by the Ovilla City Council, Ovilla Municipal Development District and Ovilla Type B Economic Development Corporation. The City Council later allocated an additional $400,000 for street repairs.
Projects completed, underway or scheduled include:
Founder’s Park — Construction continues on a new 38-space concrete parking lot and sidewalk connection to the walking trail.
Pickleball Courts — New court lights have been installed and are expected to become operational within the next couple of weeks.
Pavilion Expansion — Work is underway to add two 15-by-44-foot bays to the existing Founder’s Park pavilion, along with additional sidewalks and a trail connection.
Suburban Drive — Repairs are scheduled to begin Monday, August 24.
High Ridge Court & Thorntree Court — Existing chipseal cul-de-sacs are expected to be replaced with concrete beginning in mid-to-late September.
Cockrell Hill Road — Repairs from the northern city limits to Nob Hill are scheduled to begin September 8.
Additional repairs along Cockrell Hill Road from Nob Hill to Main Street and Circle Drive could begin around early October if approved as part of the 2026-2027 fiscal year budget.
