Muleshoe, TX — The Muleshoe Volunteer Fire Department is recognizing Captain and Fire Marshal Benny Parker for 36 years of service to the department and community.
Parker also serves as Muleshoe’s Police Chief, giving him roles in both the city’s fire and law enforcement services.
According to the fire department, Parker’s connection to the fire service began with his father, J.O., who became a firefighter when Parker was 5 years old. Parker recalled spending time at the station with his father before eventually joining himself and having the opportunity to fight fires alongside him.
“Those memories will always be the best memories,” Parker said.
Asked what advice he would give future firefighters, Parker emphasized faith, family and service.
Outside of public safety, Parker enjoys fishing and coaching his great-nephews in sports. He and his wife, Karissa, have been married for 31 years and have two children, Blake and Kinsey, along with a granddaughter and daughter-in-law.
The Muleshoe Volunteer Fire Department thanked Parker for his decades of leadership, dedication and service to the community.
