Houston, TX — A man was found dead in a remote area of Attucks Middle School property on Thursday, Houston ISD said.
An HISD employee discovered the body during routine grounds maintenance. Houston police said they were notified by the fire department about 10:25 a.m. after landscapers found the body.
The district said the incident was unrelated to the school and posed no threat to students or staff. No students saw the discovery.
The campus was placed in secure mode for about 10 minutes while police responded. Campus operations were not affected.
Police have not identified the man or said how he died. HPD is leading the investigation.
