Lake Worth, TX — Two Lake Worth police officers have received Lifesaving Awards after pulling a person in distress back to safety from an Interstate 820 overpass.
On July 30, 2026, Officer Margraf and Officer Caudle were dispatched to the Azle Avenue overpass of I-820. When they arrived, the person had climbed over the guardrail and was clinging to a street sign above the highway. The officers grabbed hold of the person and pulled them back to safety.
Chief Leonard presented the awards during the Lake Worth City Council meeting on August 18. Assistant Chief Tim Mabry said their actions prevented a tragic loss of life.
