Keller, TX — Keller firefighters are receiving what their professional association describes as the largest public safety market adjustment in more than a decade, a move the organization says could help improve retention and address staffing challenges.
Keller Professional Firefighters Association Local 3731 President Gage Forrester thanked the mayor and City Council for providing firefighters an opportunity to advocate for compensation improvements and for listening to their concerns.
According to Forrester, the compensation changes are expected to benefit firefighters while also helping the city reduce turnover and address burnout associated with staffing challenges and increased workloads.
The association acknowledged that additional work remains but described the adjustment as a significant step forward and said city leaders have demonstrated a commitment to public safety.
The association did not provide the specific percentage or dollar amount of the compensation adjustment in its announcement.
