Laredo, TX — A coordinated investigation involving U.S. Border Patrol, the Texas Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security Investigations led authorities to a suspected human smuggling stash house in Laredo.

According to U.S. Border Patrol, the investigation began after a traffic stop uncovered two alleged smugglers transporting two people who were in the country illegally.

Authorities said the investigation then led officers and agents to a stash house, where four additional people were found.

In total, six people were encountered during the enforcement operation.

The two alleged smugglers are facing federal alien-smuggling charges. Border Patrol said the six individuals will be processed for removal from the United States.

Charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
