Harris County, TX — A Houston-area YouTuber was stabbed Sunday while livestreaming at a boat ramp in the Clear Lake area, and authorities are still searching for the attacker.
Austin Lewis, who operates the Captain Crunch Boats YouTube channel, said he was arguing with a boater across the parking lot when someone warned him to look behind him. Lewis said he turned and saw a man armed with a knife before he was stabbed.
Lewis described the attacker as being heavily concealed, wearing a full balaclava, black long-sleeve shirt, black pants and brown boots.
Lewis believes the attack may have been planned and said he suspects the attacker may have been watching his channel, though authorities have not confirmed a motive or identified the assailant.
The YouTuber said the stabbing has prompted him to reconsider livestreaming from boat ramps because broadcasting his location in real time could create safety concerns.
Authorities continue to search for the attacker.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
