Hondo, TX — A Hondo police officer has been fired and a San Antonio officer has been suspended after an off-duty incident on Jan. 6 at Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico.

Skylynn Cisnero, then with Hondo PD, and SAPD Officer Taylor Thompson were off duty when local officers were called to the resort for two people who appeared drunk. Body-camera video showed Thompson having trouble standing and being treated for a cut on his hand. Cisnero argued with officers, struck one on the arm, and was arrested.

Cisnero was charged in New Mexico with battery on a peace officer, a fourth-degree felony, and misdemeanor concealing identity. She later said, “What I did was horrible.” Hondo police said she was suspended immediately and fired on Jan. 12. Prosecutors later suspended the charges, a New Mexico term for pausing a case while conditions are completed.

SAPD suspended Thompson for 15 days in late May after determining he was intoxicated in public view and failed to tell a supervisor he had contact with law enforcement. Weeks after the New Mexico incident, he was arrested on an unrelated family violence case in Castroville and has been on administrative duty since January.
