Angleton, TX — A 31-year-old Angleton man has been arrested on three first-degree felony child pornography charges after investigators executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Southside Drive.

On August 14, 2026, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigators, assisted by the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, served the warrant as part of an investigation into alleged child sexual exploitation.

Edward Lawrence Diaz III was found in possession of child sexual abuse material, the sheriff’s office said. He was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography involving videos depicting the sexual assault of a child. Each charge is a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison.

Investigators said the location is near Southside Elementary School. They have found no indication that any students from that school are involved in or connected to the investigation.

Diaz is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
