Arlington, TX — The Arlington Police Department is reminding families about the dangers of hot vehicles after a heat-safety display at its West Arlington Substation recorded a dramatic temperature difference Tuesday.
According to the department, the outdoor temperature reached 106°F while the temperature inside the vehicle climbed to 141°F.
Police said temperatures inside parked vehicles can rise quickly, even when outdoor conditions may not seem excessively hot.
CHILD SAFETY REMINDER
Never leave a child alone inside a vehicle, even for a few minutes.
Always check the back seat before locking the vehicle.
The department thanked the Center for Community Health at Cook Children’s Healthcare System for providing the heat-safety display and educational materials.
