Amarillo, TX — An Amarillo Police Department officer has been terminated following an internal investigation into a citizen complaint alleging inappropriate conduct, according to a department release issued Wednesday.

APD identified the officer as Christian Eder.

According to the department, an internal investigation determined that Eder had used department resources inappropriately. He was subsequently terminated for policy violations.

APD said the alleged improper use of department resources also prompted a criminal investigation.

The case has been turned over to the Potter County Attorney’s Office, which has jurisdiction over the alleged offense.

Police did not disclose the nature of the citizen’s original complaint, how department resources were allegedly misused or what potential criminal offense is being investigated.

APD said no additional information will be released while the criminal investigation remains pending.

No criminal charge was announced in the department’s release.
