Evadale, TX – Three Silsbee men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at Mitchell Saw and Supply in Evadale, where authorities say a handgun was among the property stolen.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Bradley Morgan responded to the business at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 15 after the owner discovered the building had been broken into during the early morning hours.
Authorities said the business and fencing were damaged, and the owner determined a handgun had been stolen. Surveillance video of the suspects was provided to investigators, and the case was assigned to JCSO Investigator David Lampman.
During the investigation, Lampman learned that approximately one hour after the burglary, a Texas DPS trooper, assisted by a JCSO deputy, had stopped three people walking along Highway 96 just north of Evadale. Investigators subsequently identified the three as suspects in the burglary.
Arrest warrants were issued Aug. 17, and Silsbee Police Department officers apprehended all three in Silsbee.
Those arrested were identified as:
• Tramayne Arline, 20, of Silsbee
• Ezavion Bass, 19, of Silsbee
• Davis Bottley, 20, of Silsbee
All three were transported to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Building, a state jail felony.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said authorities believe the three may be connected to a group of young men from outside Jasper County reportedly involved in recent burglaries in the county. No additional charges were announced in the release.
The charges are accusations, and all three defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
