El Paso, TX — One person was found dead and two others were detained following a barricade situation at a home in El Paso on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
According to El Paso Police Department Public Information Officer Detective Judy Oviedo, officers responded around 3 p.m. to an unknown problem call in the 6800 block of Via Hermosa.
When officers arrived, they found a deceased individual inside the residence. Police said two other people remained inside the home and barricaded themselves.
SWAT was called to assist, and the two individuals eventually came out of the residence and were detained.
EPPD’s Crimes Against Persons unit is investigating. Police have not released the identity of the deceased individual or additional information about what led to the death.
Authorities said there is currently no believed threat to the surrounding neighborhood.
