Houston, TX — A 38-year-old man wanted on a felony charge of criminally negligent homicide in connection with a fatal 2024 crash has been arrested in west Houston, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 5.

The constable’s office identified the man as Jose Montero.

Deputies with Precinct 5’s Strategic Response Unit, working with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, located and arrested Montero in the 14600 block of Briar Forest.

Authorities said the charge stems from Montero’s alleged role in a fatal crash that occurred in 2024 at the intersection of Blalock Road and Campbell Road.

Montero was taken to jail following his arrest.

The charge is an accusation. Montero is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
