Comal County, TX — A 40-year-old Kentucky man has been arrested after a person was found fatally shot Monday morning in the Canyon Lake area.
According to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 11 a.m. to the 3000 block of FM 2673 following a report of a man bleeding from the head beneath a vehicle.
Investigators determined the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on witness statements and evidence from the scene, deputies identified Brandon Woods, 40, as the suspect.
Woods was booked into the Comal County Jail on:
• Murder — First-Degree Felony
• Failure to Identify — Class B Misdemeanor
Authorities said it remains unclear whether Woods and the victim knew one another. The sheriff’s office described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there is no threat to the public.
Woods’ bond had not been set at the time of the information released. The investigation remains active.
Charges are accusations, and Woods is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
