United States – The FBI is seeking information about a man allegedly involved in a fraud scheme targeting Chinese international students attending universities in the United States.

According to the FBI, the individual allegedly participated in a law enforcement impersonation scam in which students are told they are wanted in connection with a crime in China and must wire money to avoid arrest and extradition.

Authorities said the man was allegedly active in the scheme as recently as January 2025.

The FBI described the individual as an Asian male with black hair and brown eyes who speaks both English and Mandarin.

HOW TO HELP

Anyone with information concerning the individual is asked to contact a local FBI office or the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

The case is being handled by the FBI’s Philadelphia Field Office.

The allegations remain under investigation.
