Corpus Christi, TX — A Corpus Christi man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison following a drug and firearms investigation that began with a traffic stop in 2025, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Hector Deleon was also sentenced to five years of supervised release following his prison term.
The case began March 15, 2025, when CCPD Gang Unit officers spotted a wanted person driving a vehicle. As officers approached, police said they observed drug paraphernalia and a handgun near the driver. Deleon, who was a passenger, also had an active Corpus Christi Municipal Court warrant.
During a search of the vehicle, officers reported finding methamphetamine, black tar heroin, heroin, crack cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, THC, marijuana, Xanax and another firearm.
According to CCPD, the driver initially claimed responsibility for everything recovered. DEA agents and task force officers continued investigating, however, and authorities later determined Deleon had greater involvement.
A federal arrest warrant was issued for Deleon in July 2025. He was arrested July 30 by the U.S. Marshals Service and CCPD Gang Unit.
Investigators subsequently searched a residence and recovered additional drugs and firearms, police said.
CCPD credited its Gang Unit, DEA agents, task force officers, the U.S. Marshals Service and other federal partners for their work during the investigation.
