Caldwell County, TX – Caldwell County commissioners proclaimed August 2026 as National Emergency Management Month during their Aug. 13 meeting, recognizing the work of local emergency management personnel.

Chief EMC Hector Rangel and Deputy Chief EMC Joann Garza-Mayberry help lead the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management, which is responsible for emergency planning, training exercises, public disaster preparedness and coordination with government agencies, volunteer organizations and private-sector partners.

Those partnerships include the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

County officials are also encouraging residents, businesses and organizations to use the month as an opportunity to review and strengthen their own preparedness plans.
