Boerne, TX — One Texas Hill Country community is getting a chance to show the country how it celebrates Christmas.

Boerne has been selected as a finalist in Hallmark’s 2026 Merriest Christmas Town contest, which is highlighting communities known for holiday traditions, celebrations, hometown character and Christmas spirit.

Public voting is underway and continues through Sept. 4.

Eligible voters can cast one vote per person each calendar day, meaning Texans can return daily throughout the voting period to support Boerne.

More Than Bragging Rights

According to Hallmark’s official contest rules, the community ultimately selected as the grand-prize winner will receive the designation of “Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town.”

The winning community will also receive an opportunity to serve as a filming location for a Hallmark movie, subject to additional agreements between Hallmark and the municipality.

Hallmark’s judging process considers community spirit, holiday traditions, neighborhood charm and goodwill.

The judging period is expected to conclude in September, with the winning community scheduled to be announced around Oct. 31.

Boerne already embraces the holiday season through its Hill Country Christmas celebrations and seasonal events centered around its historic downtown and Hill Country Mile.

Texans who want to support Boerne can vote once each day through Sept. 4.
