Texas City, TX – Texas City Police Captain Chris Kelemen has reached a new milestone in his law enforcement career, graduating from East Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Law Enforcement Leadership.
Kelemen, a Galveston native and Ball High School graduate, began his law enforcement career in August 2000 and joined the Texas City Police Department in 2015. He is also a Master Peace Officer certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
During his career with Texas City police, Kelemen spent four years as a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division before being promoted to Sergeant in 2023. He was promoted to Lieutenant in August 2024 and Captain in April 2025.
Kelemen currently serves as Support Services Captain, overseeing the Criminal Investigations Division, Identification Division and Office of Professional Standards.
The Texas City Police Department congratulated Kelemen on his academic achievement and continued professional development.
