Harris County, TX — A woman was arrested after deputies responded to reports of a 1-year-old child alone in a roadway and at risk of being struck by passing vehicles, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
The incident occurred June 14 in the 14400 block of Ella Boulevard.
Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office located the child and removed the child from the roadway to safety.
Deputies later located the child’s mother, identified as Christina Lewis, inside a nearby apartment. According to the Constable’s Office, investigators allege Lewis failed to properly supervise the child and was unaware the child had left the residence.
Lewis was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of Child Endangerment. Her bond was set at $2,500 out of the 482nd District Court.
Charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
