Sealy, TX – A juvenile died after suffering a gunshot wound in Sealy, and a man has been arrested in connection with the death, according to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to 1093 Anna Lane on Aug. 14 after receiving a report of a juvenile with a gunshot wound.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Austin County EMS attempted lifesaving measures for approximately 30 minutes before the juvenile was pronounced dead.
The Austin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and a forensic investigator responded to the scene, processed evidence and interviewed witnesses.
Authorities subsequently arrested Jordan B. Rodriguez on a charge of criminally negligent homicide. Rodriguez was transported to the Austin County Jail for processing.
The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing. No additional circumstances surrounding the shooting or information about the juvenile were provided in the release.
Charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
