Bay City, TX – The Bay City Independent School District Police Department announced Monday, Aug. 17, the promotion of Officer Heather Lewis to the rank of lieutenant.
Lewis previously served in the lieutenant position with the department and has returned to continue her service with Bay City ISD Police. During her tenure, the department said she has played a role in campus safety efforts, building relationships with students and staff, and supporting initiatives aimed at maintaining secure learning environments.
“Lieutenant Lewis has consistently exemplified the values of integrity, service, and leadership,” Chief of Police L. C. Cunningham Jr. said. “Her commitment to protecting our students, staff, and visitors makes her exceptionally deserving of this promotion.”
In her lieutenant role, Lewis will take on increased supervisory responsibilities involving department operations, officer mentoring, safety initiatives and support of the department’s overall school safety mission.
Lewis said she was honored to accept the promotion and looks forward to continuing efforts to protect the safety and well-being of those within Bay City ISD schools.
