Polk County, TX – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has announced additional charges against Cody Allen Laviolette as investigators continue their investigation that began following the suspicious death of 31-year-old Kelly Taylor Mariah Little.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began May 23, 2026, after Little died at Laviolette’s residence. Since then, authorities said several additional alleged victims have come forward, resulting in Laviolette’s arrest and multiple charges.

The Sheriff’s Office said some individuals reported feeling more comfortable coming forward after learning Laviolette remained in custody.

On Aug. 17, another alleged victim came forward, resulting in additional charges against Laviolette:

• Assault of a Family or Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation — Third-Degree Felony
• Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon — Second-Degree Felony
• Aggravated Sexual Assault — First-Degree Felony
• Two Counts of Sexual Assault — Second-Degree Felonies
• Bestiality — State Jail Felony
• Unlawful Restraint Exposure to Serious Bodily Injury — Third-Degree Felony

HOW TO HELP

Investigators said they have received information indicating there could be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone who believes they may have been victimized is encouraged to contact investigators regardless of how long ago the alleged incident occurred.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office: 936-327-6810
Detective Craig Finegan or Detective Jessi Stanton

The investigation into Little’s death remains ongoing. The additional charges described by the Sheriff’s Office involve allegations reported by another individual and do not, by themselves, establish the circumstances of Little’s death.

Charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
