Kilgore, TX — A Popeyes restaurant in Kilgore will remain temporarily closed after a kitchen fire Sunday morning caused limited damage.
The Kilgore Fire Department responded at approximately 9:45 a.m. Sunday, August 16, to the restaurant at 745 U.S. Highway 259 North.
When firefighters arrived, employees had already successfully extinguished the fire. Firefighters then assisted with clearing smoke from the building.
No injuries were reported, and the fire caused limited damage to the kitchen.
The restaurant will remain temporarily closed while minor repairs and cleanup are completed and pending fire and health inspections.
The Kilgore Fire Department credited employees with safely and effectively using a fire extinguisher, helping limit property damage and prevent injuries.
