Lufkin, TX — A 27-year-old Lufkin man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge following a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in the 400 block of Champions Drive in Crown Colony, according to the Lufkin Police Department.

Police identified the driver as Reiley Yarbrough. Officers responded to the crash around 9:30 p.m. and administered a field sobriety test before taking Yarbrough into custody.

According to police, officers suspected possible drug involvement based on Yarbrough’s responses during the field sobriety test. Yarbrough consented to a blood sample, which was collected at a local hospital. Results are pending.

A witness told officers he was traveling southbound on Champions Drive when he moved out of the way of a northbound vehicle that was entering his side of the roadway. The witness reported seeing the vehicles collide in his rearview mirror.

Police said no one involved in the crash was seriously injured.

Yarbrough was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a DWI charge and remained jailed on a $10,000 bond at the time of the department’s update.

An arrest and criminal charge are accusations. Yarbrough is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

SAFETY REMINDER: Never drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Arrange for a sober driver or another safe way home before drinking or using an impairing substance.
