La Salle County, TX — La Salle County Fire Rescue’s A-Shift recently participated in joint training with Methodist AirCare 2, focusing on coordination and communication between ground and flight crews during critical medical emergencies.
According to the department, air medical services may be requested when a patient’s condition or injuries require a higher level of care or rapid transportation to a trauma center or specialty facility.
The training allowed firefighters and the flight crew to work together, better understand each team’s capabilities and strengthen communication for situations in which rapid, coordinated patient care is needed.
La Salle County Fire Rescue emphasized that trust, professionalism and teamwork between ground and air medical crews are important components of emergency response.
The department thanked its AirCare partners for training alongside local first responders and for their service to surrounding communities.
