Holiday Lakes, TX — The Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) is criticizing Holiday Lakes Mayor Dani Chandler over social media statements she allegedly made following her arrest, saying the remarks were directed at the Holiday Lakes Police Department and amounted, in the association’s view, to a threat against the police chief and department.
According to TMPA, Chandler and Councilwoman Kay Young were arrested after law enforcement investigated allegations, established probable cause and obtained arrest warrants.
TMPA highlighted a social media post attributed to Chandler that stated, in part, “To the Holiday Lakes PD... well... this js just got interesting,” along with another statement shown by the association saying, “You tell ’em I’m coming, and hell’s coming with me.”
TMPA characterized the statements as threatening and argued that officers should not face political retaliation, intimidation or threats to their careers for carrying out their duties.
The statements described as threatening are TMPA’s characterization of Chandler’s remarks. Texan Report is not independently characterizing the posts as threats.
Chandler and Young’s arrests involve allegations. They are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
