Sterling County, TX — Authorities are asking residents to remain alert as deputies continue searching for a wanted man who allegedly fled from a traffic stop and entered a pasture south of Sterling City.

According to an updated notice from the Sterling County Sheriff’s Office, the man remains at large and is wanted for fleeing and eluding.

The Sheriff’s Office clarified that the incident occurred on U.S. Highway 87 South toward San Angelo, approximately half a mile outside of town. Authorities said the man jumped a fence and continued southbound through a pasture.

Suspect Description:

• Black male
• Pink pants
• Brown and pink sweatshirt

Authorities said they do not currently believe the man is armed but cautioned the public not to approach him if spotted.

Anyone who sees the suspect should keep their distance and contact the Sterling County Sheriff’s Office. A phone number was not provided in the notice.

Residents in the area should remain alert and avoid interfering with the ongoing search.
