San Antonio, TX — Three teenagers accused in a series of robberies in San Antonio are facing additional felony charges, including new indictments tied to an alleged May 4 robbery involving a Stevens High School student.
The defendants are Amir Notario, 17; Omar Timothy John Saenz, 18; and Damian Zertuche, 18.
According to court records, the May 4 incident occurred at a Circle K in the 9800 block of Potranco Road. Investigators allege a 17-year-old Stevens High School student was confronted by the three teenagers after leaving campus during lunch.
Authorities allege Saenz struck the student in the face with a handgun while Saenz and Zertuche took property from his backpack, including a gold chain, ring, sunglasses, phone charger and wallet. Notario allegedly acted as a lookout.
Court records show Saenz and Zertuche were indicted Thursday on two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon related to the case. Notario was indicted on two aggravated robbery counts.
The three are also accused in a separate May 18 incident at the same Circle K, where an 18-year-old Stevens High School student was allegedly confronted, threatened with a firearm and struck in the face.
Zertuche additionally faces charges stemming from separate alleged robberies May 17 at Ingram Park Mall and North Star Mall.
Records show Zertuche’s combined bond across nine charges connected to the May incidents was set at $625,000. Saenz and Zertuche remain in the Bexar County Jail, while Notario was placed on house arrest after a judge reduced his bond in July.
Notario and Saenz are scheduled to appear before Judge Kristina Escalona in the 186th Criminal District Court on Aug. 21. Zertuche’s next scheduled court appearance related to the North Star Mall case is Sept. 14.
An indictment is a formal accusation and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
