Limestone County, TX — Firefighters from multiple departments responded Saturday afternoon to a large wildland fire involving approximately 100 acres of mesquite and hardwood thicket in Limestone County.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the Robinson Volunteer Fire Department was requested to provide mutual aid, marking the department’s second mutual-aid response of the day.
Robinson VFD deployed eight personnel along with several resources, including:
• Squad 1
• Tanker 2
• Chief 1 with UTV 1
• Chief 2 with the Support Trailer
• Drone 2
The response involved numerous local and state agencies, including Prairie Hill VFD, Robinson VFD, Mart VFD, Leroy/Axtell Fire and Rescue, Groesbeck VFD, Elk VFD, Tehuacana VFD, Limestone County Emergency Management, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Texas A&M Forest Service.
While those resources assisted in Limestone County, additional Robinson firefighters remained in the city ready to respond to local emergencies.
Officials described it as a long, hot afternoon for firefighters and emergency personnel working the incident.
