Stinnett, TX — Stinnett Volunteer Fire Department crews worked through the night after responding to two separate wildfires followed by an early-morning structure fire in town.

Firefighters began battling the two wildfires around 7 p.m. Thursday on the east and north sides of the department’s response area.

According to the department, both fires are believed to have been started by lightning strikes.

Then, around 3 a.m. Friday, while crews were still wrapping up operations from the wildfire responses, firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in Stinnett.

Borger Fire Department responded to assist with the structure fire as Stinnett volunteers continued working after spending much of the night on the earlier calls.

The department thanked Borger firefighters for the additional support and also recognized its own volunteers for continuing to respond after a full day and overnight fire operations.
