Rio Hondo, TX — Rio Hondo City Administrator Ben Medina Jr. has resigned from his position, effective Aug. 11.

The city announced the leadership change Thursday and thanked Medina for his years of service as city administrator.

The Rio Hondo City Commission appointed Police Chief Julian Longoria to serve as interim city administrator.

Longoria will remain in the role while the city evaluates its next steps regarding the permanent city administrator position.

City officials said municipal services and daily operations will continue during the transition.
