Johnson County, TX — Emergency Support Service recently attended an open house celebrating the new Fire Dispatch center serving Johnson County.
The dispatch operation has served the area for 15 years, with dispatchers providing a critical link between people calling 911 and the emergency responders sent to assist them.
Dispatchers send emergency resources and can provide lifesaving instructions, including CPR guidance, while first responders are on the way.
The new facility includes:
• A tornado-protected dispatch center
• Sleeping quarters
• A kitchen
• A workout room
• A training room
According to Emergency Support Service, the new dispatch center was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
The open house also provided an opportunity to recognize the dispatchers working behind the scenes to coordinate emergency response throughout Johnson County.
