Montgomery County, TX — A former Magnolia Police Department officer was arrested in Louisiana this week after Montgomery County investigators accused him of sexually assaulting a child.
According to the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, 44-year-old Brandon David Muse of Magnolia was taken into custody Aug. 11 by the Minden Police Department in Louisiana.
Precinct 3 detectives said they developed probable cause to charge Muse with Sexual Assault of a Child, a second-degree felony in Texas, following an extensive investigation.
The investigation began in May 2026 after detectives assigned to Children’s Safe Harbor received a Child Protective Services report alleging child sexual abuse involving Muse. Authorities said the victim was 14 years old at the time of the alleged offense.
Investigators determined Muse was living in Minden, Louisiana, and coordinated with local police to locate and arrest him.
According to the Constable’s Office, Muse previously worked as an officer with the Magnolia Police Department until January 2020. Investigators also learned he worked for Magnolia Independent School District, possibly in transportation services, from March 2023 through April 2024.
At the time of his arrest, authorities said Muse was working as a school bus monitor for a school district in the Minden area.
Detectives believe Muse may have also been involved with youth groups in both Texas and Louisiana.
