Reeves County, TX — A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 6:45 p.m. Friday for southwestern Reeves County and northeastern Jeff Davis County, according to the National Weather Service.
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen, with up to an additional inch possible.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Areas that could experience flooding include:
• Balmorhea
• Balmorhea State Park
• Balmorhea Lake
• Saragosa
• Toyahvale
• Buffalo Trail Scout Camp
• Star Mountain
Flooding could affect small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses and other low-lying or poor-drainage areas.
Turn Around, Don’t Drown: Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. Flooding can develop rapidly, including in locations where rain is not currently falling.
Reeves County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office is also urging residents to stay off roadways if possible until conditions improve.
