Sugar Land, TX — Sugar Land police say officers have made more than 120 DWI arrests so far in 2026, with another arrest added following a crash Tuesday on the Southwest Freeway.

According to the Sugar Land Police Department, the crash occurred Aug. 11 in the 14200 block of the Southwest Freeway.

Police said the incident resulted in one additional arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.

The department specifically clarified that the FedEx driver seen in photographs from the crash was NOT the person arrested for DWI.

Don’t Drink and Drive:

Sugar Land police reminded motorists that driving after drinking puts other people on the road at risk and encouraged drivers to use available rideshare options, designate a sober driver or remain home.

A DWI charge is an accusation. The person arrested is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
