El Paso, TX — A 51-year-old Northeast El Paso man was killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the 9500 block of Railroad, according to the El Paso Police Department.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Kevin Eugene Louis.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:11 a.m. Aug. 12. El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigators determined that Louis was traveling southbound on a 2006 Honda VTX1300 when he failed to negotiate a curve.

According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle left the roadway, entered a rock landscaping area and struck a tree. Louis was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Police said Louis’ death marks El Paso’s 34th traffic fatality of 2026. At the same point in 2025, the city had recorded 37 traffic fatalities.
