Fort Worth, TX — The Fort Worth Police Department is remembering Sergeant Billy Randolph on the second anniversary of his line-of-duty death.
On the morning of Aug. 12, 2024, Randolph was working a crash scene on Interstate 35 near Sycamore School Road when a vehicle traveled the wrong way through barricades and struck him while he was standing outside his patrol vehicle.
Randolph was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. He was 56 years old.
The driver who struck Randolph was charged with intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to life in prison in March 2026.
Randolph was a United States Air Force veteran and served with the Fort Worth Police Department for 29 years.
Fort Worth police marked the anniversary with a tribute honoring his service and sacrifice.
