Livingston, TX — A 38-year-old Livingston man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police responded to an assault in progress at Matthews Park, according to the Livingston Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the park at approximately 1:56 p.m. Aug. 12.
Police said officers quickly located a suspect accused of assaulting a family member. The suspect, identified as Robert Jones, allegedly ran from officers along Matthews Street.
When officers caught up with Jones, police said two LPD officers deployed Tasers to safely take him into custody.
Jones was later transferred to the Polk County Jail and charged with:
• Assault Family Member Impeding Breath/Circulation
• Evading Arrest/Detention
• Resisting Arrest
