Ballinger, TX — Members of the Ballinger Volunteer Fire Department responded to three separate calls Tuesday, Aug. 11, including a medical assist and two traffic crashes.
The first call came at approximately 10:25 a.m., when volunteers were dispatched to assist the ambulance team from Ballinger Memorial.
Later, at approximately 3:28 p.m., firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 83 south toward Paint Rock. According to the department, all drivers and occupants were OK but shaken by the crash.
North Runnels EMS responded to evaluate those involved, and a wrecker removed the vehicle. Fire units returned to service at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Late-Night Rollover
At approximately 10:25 p.m., firefighters were dispatched again, this time for a single-vehicle rollover on FM 2887 toward Hatchel.
The southbound lane was temporarily closed while a wrecker turned the vehicle upright and removed it. North Runnels EMS evaluated the occupants, and TxDOT cleared debris from the roadway after the vehicle was removed.
The fire department reported everyone was able to leave safely, and fire units returned to service at approximately 12:03 a.m. Wednesday.
The responses involved assistance from several local and state agencies, including the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office, Ballinger Memorial Hospital, North Runnels EMS, Texas DPS and TxDOT.
