Amarillo, TX — Amarillo police are currently on scene at the Motel 6 located at 2032 Paramount Blvd., where SWAT officers and negotiators are working with a barricaded subject who may be armed.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area while the active situation continues.
Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the response or the identity of the barricaded individual.

Residents and drivers should avoid the area and allow emergency personnel room to work. If approaching emergency vehicles with activated lights on the roadway, slow down and move over when required and safe to do so.
Amarillo police said additional information will be provided once the incident has been cleared.
