San Antonio, TX — A San Antonio Fire Department firefighter has been placed on administrative duty following his arrest last week in Comal County.
According to jail records, 49-year-old Ryan Edwards was taken into custody Aug. 6.
Records show Edwards faces two charges:
• Assault Causing Bodily Injury
• Interfering With Emergency Request for Assistance
Edwards was released from the Comal County Jail the same day after posting a $6,000 bond.
A San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that Edwards has since been placed on administrative duty.
Additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the arrest have not been released.
The charges are allegations and do not constitute a finding of guilt. Edwards is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
