Lake Jackson, TX — A structure fire early Tuesday morning prompted a multi-agency response in Lake Jackson, with residents safely evacuated and one firefighter hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department was notified at approximately 3:43 a.m. of an unknown outdoor fire in the 300 block of Wisteria Street. The call was subsequently upgraded to a patio fire and then a structure fire.
Residents were evacuated at the direction of Lake Jackson dispatchers as firefighters responded.
Lake Jackson VFD initially requested mutual aid from Richwood and Clute. As the incident escalated, additional assistance was requested from Angleton, Freeport, Brazoria and Jones Creek.
The fire was extinguished with no civilian injuries reported. Of the 24 fire and command personnel involved in the response, one was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional support was provided by Lake Jackson Police Department, Lake Jackson dispatchers, Lake Jackson Fire Marshal’s Office, Lake Jackson EMS, Clute EMS, Angleton EMS and CenterPoint Energy.
The structure fire marked Lake Jackson VFD’s second major response of the night. The department had previously provided mutual aid to Freeport Fire Department for a garage fire at approximately 10:40 p.m. Monday.
