Lewisville, TX — A hamster appropriately named “Houdini” is safely back with his owner after Lewisville firefighters helped free the adventurous pet from inside a vehicle’s center console.
According to Lewisville Fire, a local resident brought her vehicle to Station 5 after her newly acquired hamster escaped and made its way behind the cup holders and into the vehicle’s center console.
Six firefighters worked together to carefully reach Houdini, using what the department described as some “mechanic magic,” a PetSmart box and plenty of patience.
The rescue was successful, and Houdini emerged unharmed before being reunited with his relieved owner.
The department joked that the little escape artist certainly lived up to his name after pulling off his disappearing act.
Has your pet ever found itself somewhere it definitely wasn’t supposed to be?
