Amarillo, TX — Traffic is being diverted after a cattle truck overturned following a tire blowout, prompting closures near the I-27 and I-40 interchange.
The Amarillo Police Department and Potter County Sheriff’s Office are currently at the crash scene.
Authorities said one cow is on the highway. For safety, traffic from northbound I-27 to both eastbound and westbound I-40 has been closed.

Drivers needing to access I-40 from the area should use an alternate route until the roadway can safely reopen.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, slow down if traveling nearby and give law enforcement and emergency crews room to clear the scene.
