Harris County, TX — A man accused of injuring a juvenile was arrested after allegedly fleeing from deputies and attempting to evade capture in a bayou area, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Deputies responded Aug. 10 to a disturbance in the 10800 block of Spring Shadows Drive, where they learned the male involved had fled on foot.
Deputies later located the suspect in a nearby bayou area. Authorities said he fled again after seeing deputies and began jumping fences in an attempt to evade apprehension.
With assistance from a Constable Canine Unit, deputies apprehended the man, identified as Oscar Vasquez.
Further investigation into the original disturbance determined that Vasquez allegedly injured a juvenile at the location, according to the Constable’s Office. Deputies also confirmed he had outstanding warrants for Criminal Mischief and Harassment.
Vasquez was booked into the Harris County Jail on the outstanding warrants and charged with Injury to a Child. His bond on the new charge was set at $30,000 out of the 495th District Court.
The charges and allegations are accusations. Vasquez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
